A rarely used iconic black leather sofa called Ateljee by Yrjö Kukkapuro is or sale. The sofa is in excellent condition.
About the sofa:
The Ateljee sofa is upholstered in high-quality black leather. The wood panels, which are fastened to the frame with screws, form a support for the loose seat cushions. The armrest cushions are attached to the frame with a flat iron. The base of the seat is formed by woven elastic straps which are attached to the tubular frame with metal hooks. The pipe frame is made of high-quality steel that is painted in black. Visible black mounting screws and components ensure complete repairability. The legs of the Ateljee sofa are protected by a metal sleeve that come in black color.
The wooden parts of the Ateljee sofa are made of high-quality mdf board. Standard color is black, but the panels are also available in white and in the following wood veneer options: light oak, birch and walnut.
The Ateljee, designed in 1963, is part of the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MoMan in New York.
